For players interested in ARC Raiders Items, the Jump Mine Trial is a good example of why understanding equipment names and enemy behavior matters. The challenge can sound more complicated than it really is because “Jump Mine” is simply another name used for the standard Explosive Mine. It is not a separate blueprint, so players do not need to search for a special version before attempting the Trial.
The naming difference mainly comes from how the game describes the equipment in different locations. The weekly Trials use the term Jump Mine, while the character equipment menu refers to the same explosive as an Explosive Mine. This inconsistency has caused some players to believe they are missing an unlock.
Once that is understood, the challenge becomes much easier to prepare for. The main task is to use an explosive to damage an ARC machine, with the amount of damage directly affecting the Trial score. Instead of treating the challenge as a simple mine-spamming exercise, it is better to focus on where and when the explosive detonates.
The Trial gives five points for every point of damage caused to an ARC by the mine. That makes weak-point damage extremely valuable.
ARC machines are protected by armor, and an explosion against an armored section will normally produce much less useful damage. Before placing the mine, players should therefore work on removing the armor or breaking a joint. Once a vulnerable section is exposed, the explosive can deal considerably more damage.
This principle applies to both smaller drones and the larger ARC machines. The better the target position, the more value you can get from every mine.
Water Treatment provides a useful setup for players who want a straightforward route toward three stars. The basic loadout consists of one Explosive Mine and three Snitch Scanners. A Lure Grenade can also be brought along if additional control is needed.
Look for the narrow metal platform that connects the upper section with three entrance gates. Place the mine around the center of this platform, then throw the Snitch Scanners onto the mine or into the space immediately above it.
The setup is designed to encourage WASP or HORNET drones to enter the confined area. Because there is limited room to move, an ARC drone can become trapped around the platform, giving the mine a much better chance of landing its complete explosion.
A safer three-star strategy is useful, but players chasing a much higher Trial score can take on heavier targets. Shredder, Bombardier, and Bastion are particularly valuable because their larger bodies and exposed weak points can produce much more damage when the mine is positioned correctly.
High-scoring runs can reach approximately 18,000 to 26,000 or more points. However, this method is considerably more dangerous and requires better preparation. Players need enough explosives, reliable cover, and a plan for controlling the enemy's movement.
The Cautious Augment is a useful choice for this type of run because additional carrying capacity can provide more flexibility. Fighting around the Hatch area also requires awareness, since surviving long enough to complete the setup is just as important as maximizing damage.
Against a large ARC, rushing straight toward the machine with a mine is usually a poor choice. Instead, use heavy weapons to concentrate fire on one leg joint. Breaking the joint can disable the machine and expose a vulnerable area.
When the ARC is down, move in quickly and place the Explosive Mine directly on the exposed joint or power core. The timing is important because the vulnerable window gives you the best chance of converting the explosion into a large Trial score.
Experienced players may use four mines when they are comfortable with accurate placement. Five mines are more forgiving for newer players because an additional explosive gives them some room for mistakes.
The Jump Mine Trial rewards preparation rather than simply using explosives as quickly as possible. Water Treatment offers a controlled approach for players focused on completing the challenge, while heavy ARC machines provide a much higher scoring ceiling for those willing to accept greater risk.
The most important habit is always the same: expose the target's weak point before committing your mine. Good positioning, careful use of cover, and proper timing can make each explosion significantly more valuable.
For players preparing multiple attempts, having sufficient resources on hand can reduce downtime between runs. Those who prefer to buy ARC Raiders Loot can also use additional supplies to keep their Trial setup ready for repeated attempts.
